Everything people usually ask before their first class. Can't find your answer? Just ask us.
Absolutely. Most of our clients had never touched a reformer before their first class. Your instructor will set you up, explain everything, and give you options at every step. The springs on the reformer actually make it one of the most beginner-friendly ways to exercise.
Not even slightly. You don't get fit to come to Pilates. You come to Pilates to get fit. Every exercise can be scaled up or down, and nobody in the room is watching anyone but themselves. That's the whole point of The Space.
No. The weights are there to help you get stronger, not to test whether you already are. We use dumbbells and spring resistance alongside the Pilates, and every exercise is scaled to you. Plenty of people start with the lightest weight in the rack, or none at all, and build from there. That is exactly how it is meant to work.
Comfortable activewear you can move in, a water bottle, and grip socks. Grip socks are required on the reformers for safety and hygiene. Forgot yours? You can buy a pair at the studio, and we'll take care of the rest.
Everything is booked online through our booking system, where you can see the live timetable and grab a spot. Book here. Once you've booked your first class, download the Momence app, which makes managing your bookings quick and easy.
Classes can be cancelled up to 2 hours before start time. Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit the session. Please cancel the same way you booked (through Momence), as our emails are not always monitored.
Treat the waitlist exactly the same as a confirmed booking. Our system moves the waitlist automatically, right up until class start time, on a first-booked, first-served basis. If you're moved into the class and cancel within 2 hours of start time, the usual cancellation policy applies (there's no charge to come off the waitlist itself). If you know you can no longer attend, please remove yourself from the waitlist so you don't risk being added to the class and losing your session, especially for those early morning classes.
Please let your instructor know before class if you have any injuries or need modifications. If you're pregnant, share the news with us whenever you're telling the world, usually around the 13 to 14 week mark. From 20 weeks onwards you'll need to be propped up rather than lying flat on your back. Just let your instructor know and we'll provide a wedge to keep you supported throughout class.
You'll find us at 11/13 Oporto Road, above Ice Box Liquor. Please park on the street, as spaces in the complex are reserved for other tenants. Arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class starts so we can show you around.
Most people feel a difference after their first few classes and see real changes in strength and posture at 2 to 3 classes a week. That's exactly what our intro offer (6 classes in 21 days) is designed to show you.
Send us a message or just book that first class, it answers most questions on its own.
